New! Part 2!

That is a bad picture... hopefully you can tell that I cut and colored my hair! It is shorter and stacked up in the back and a little bit longer in the front! I LOVE IT! I tried someone new this time, a lady in Dallas City. She was really nice and did a freaking good job cutting it. Then I wanted to color it and Tacy said she had no idea how to do it, but Nathan said he did. He did a pretty darn good job if I do say so myself.

New!

I bought a new laptop! I got one of the minis. I just got it today so I'm not 100% use to it but so far so good! Through my dads work we can get discounts on laptops on dell so last week my mom got an e-mail telling her of a deal with the dell minis. I was looking around at different ones and when my mom told me the deal it was a really good one so I decided to go for it My old computers power cord was broken and it was so so so slow, so I realized it was time for a change. I'm excited way excited! I don't do a ton on my computer so I didn't really need a big one. Well that's all I really have to say for now. Sorry for the short post.

SLUSH!

Happy WAY belated birthday to me! Tacy never got me a birthday present last year, so she felt the need to get me a present now. SO she got me a Slush Mug! It is a mug that you freeze the inside cup and then when it is all frozen you pour your cold drink in and then in a matter of minutes its a slushy! I just got it today but I have already used it and it works and I love it!

On a different note....

Today was my first day subbing as an aid at the Grade School. It was way fun! I subbed in the pre-k class and they are just adorable. A few kids I knew from church, but most I didn't know but they loved me anyway. I also ran into a few more kids from church in different grades and they all made sure to announce that they knew who I was. One girl that I taught it sunbeams came up and gave me a huge hug and said JESSIE! WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE!? It was a good day. I go back tomorrow to do the same thing. Then Thursday and Friday I sub in Kindergarden. I'm excited!

I'M ALIVE!

I have not had any motivation to write a blog in the past few months. I was just lazy, and I felt like there was nothing really worth blogging about. So I guess I can fill you in on all that has happened since November.

Christmas was great! Katy was home for the holidays and it was so much fun having her here for a while. We all had a lot of fun just being lazy and doing a whole lot of nothing. I got a Wii so we played wii golf most of the time.

It all got boring after Katy left. The Fudge Factory is closed until the beginning of February so Me, my mom and Tacy really had nothing to do for the month of January. We decided to take a cake decorating class at hobby lobby. That was fun, Tacy took pictures but I will have to post pictures later. We just learned the basics, like frosting the cake and then doing borders and basic flowers. We had to learn the rose and it was HARD! the teacher said its the hardest thing to learn. There are three different courses, and each course is four classes long. We finished the first one and me and Tacy are going to take Course two. In that class we will learn more flowers and the basic weave, So it should be fun.

That's the only major news, there have been a few little changes. In church I used to teach the three year olds, now I teach the six year olds. I liked the three year olds, but it was getting way hard tyring to wrestle six three year olds by myself. The six year old are great, they know more about what I'm teaching them, and they know how to be reverent. Its great!

On occasion I sub for a cook or the secretary out at the Jr High. But a few days ago and the Grade School called me and asked if I would be interested in subbing as an aid for them. So next week I will be working at the Grade School and a few days in the next few months.

That is about it, sorry about not blogging!

Be careful what you wish for...

Yesterday and today I have been subbing as the secretary out at the Jr. High. Yesterday was probably the most boring day of my life. I was the only one in the office, and I had nothing better to do than just sit around and play games online. Every so often a teacher would come in and ask how it was going and if anything exciting has happened? Every time I would say no but I wish something would happen.

Well the last hour of the day my wish came true. I was sitting at the desk and all of a sudden a kid came in, he seemed fine, he did not seem mad or anything. But he came in and said, " I just threatened to kill a teacher, so... I think it would be best if I did not show up to school tomorrow", and I was thinking WHAT THE HECK DO I SAY TO THAT! So he started to walk away and I was like wait... who did you threaten, and what is your name? He told me both and I was still not sure what to do so I said okay. He left and I wrote a note down on a post it note. It was probably not what I needed to do but I really did not know.

Anyway.... A teacher friend of mine came into the office after the bell rang for school to be out, and I showed it to her and she just laughed and was like are you serious. So she went to the other teacher that was threatened and told him, and he laughed. I thought the teacher would of known he was threatened but he did not. So they said they would take care of if because, no body really knew what to do.

So I came into work today and the two people who take care of disciplinary things were here. And a little while later, a few teachers were in here talking with them about what happened yesterday. Then another teacher brings the kid who threatened the teacher in to the office and just made him sit there. So there was a lot of secret talking in office, people coming in and out of the room. And I was just sitting at the desk trying to look busy. Then I got called into the office, and I had to write down what exactly happened yesterday, what I was told. Then I was to sign and date it. I did then some other girls who overheard him say the threat came in and had to do the same thing.

So the kid who was in trouble just sat in the office. And the disciplinary people came out and said when David (I'm not sure the name he said) gets here let me know. So about five or so minutes later. A cop walks in! I was so confused because the teacher just called the cop by the first name so when he said he was coming I was thinking it was the kids dad. I was wrong. So the teacher and the cop talked for a second and the teacher said that the mom could not come and get the kid, so the only other way was to have a police officer take him home. It was weird.

But I wanted excitement and I guess I got it. But other than that, the phone has rang more today, so I get to do something other than sit here and stare at the computer.

The Dash

I heard this poem over the summer and I really liked it.
I was reading a letter a friend wrote to me, and in the letter she said how glad she was that
I was part of her "Dash".

So here it is....

The Dash Poem
by Linda Ellis
I read of a man who stood to speak
At the funeral of a friend.
He referred to the dates on her tombstone
From the beginning to the end.

He noted that first came the date of her birth
And spoke of the following date with tears,
But he said what mattered most of all
Was the dash between those years.

For that dash represents all the time
That she spent alive on earth
And now only those who loved her
Know what that little line is worth.

For it matters not, how much we own,
The cars, the house, the cash,
What matters is how we live and love
And how we spend our dash.

So think about this long and hard;
Are there things you'd like to change?
For you never know how much time is left
That can still be rearranged.

If we could just slow down enough
To consider what's true and real
And always try to understand
The way other people feel.

And be less quick to anger
And show appreciation more
And love the people in our lives
Like we've never loved before.

If we treat each other with respect
And more often wear a smile,
Remembering that this special dash
Might only last a little while.

So when your eulogy is being read
With your life's actions to rehash
Would you be proud of the things they say
About how you spent your dash?
